This store needs more humans and less machines. Stock levels are poor. The whole store is constantly littered with pallets and box's blocking the shelves which are usually empty. Always dodging mechanical pallet shifting things. The few staff there are belligerent and borderline rude when challenged. Today no bags of any description except ones that cost 4 each.This scan and go needs binning as no one uses it, loose 80% of the self serve and bring back polite staff checking out and helping you pack. The whole experience is beyond frustrating. You fumble through this self serve nonsense and every second item requires a 5 minute wait for someone to come and correct. Skynet didn't go to well in the terminator and it definitely isn't boding well for supermarkets. Prices up, record profits at the constant expense of staff and customers.
Decent supermarket. Good choice of products. Good clothes department. Only problem is the lack of staff at checkouts. Petrol station is pay at pump only which I like. Large car park. Ofte busy but can always find a space. Sometimes busy getting in and out as only 1 entrance/exit.
Remember shopping here as a kid with my parents and carried on into my adulthood. Seriously considering going to one of the competition. Not everyone wants to scan through their groceries and have the dreaded red light flash, especially with a trolley full. Four till staff only working hard, massive queues with four supervisors with happy to help on their backs standing around waiting for some new way of scanning food to go wrong. More till staff needed, god help everyone when it comes to Christmas, bedlam.
Regrettably I find this store is constantly running out of stock. I except that weekends are a busy time but retail is simple. If the stock is not on the shelf I can't buy it. Too many lines off sale on too many occasions mean I have to visit multiple shops.
Large Asda store, good parking and usually the cheapest fuel in the area. Parking can get full during busy periods. Only one way in and one way out, with traffic lights - total lack of thought like all supermarket entrances.
