Excellent library filled with knowledge.
Underfunded and in need of an update, like many libraries in the UK. Lancaster is a city and this is its library!?
Lancaster Library has adapted with the times to reflect its huge range of users, from the very young - catered for in a dedicated children's area which is often very busy - to newspaper readers and internet researchers. Upstairs, the Sanctuary offers respite from noise and is the location for a wide range of events. There's also a great Reference Library for local history researchers. Library staff are supported in their work by a dedicated volunteer group, the Friends of Lancaster Library, who organise events at weekends, especially Sundays, such as the annual Lancaster Comics Day, craft markets, music events and more.
Good place to study. Very quiet.
