I left this school as a Year 6 in 2014. I am still thankful to the glorious Miss Garvey and Mrs Duckmanton who nurtured me and put up with my constant fidgeting - any other teacher would have gone insane (apart from those at Moorside). However, they managed to get me out of these ways and I (eventually) started concentrating at school, so I became the person I am today.The atmosphere at Moorside is one that people look at and gasp - staff combine having fun with learning meaning the pupils are happy to learn. When pupils are playing on the playground or meadow, a variety of equipment (for example tennis balls and cricket sets), is left out for kids to play with. Staff supervise the playground: it is a fun, active but also safe environment.The school dinners are unbeatable. Michelle, the head cook, prepares healthy and tasty dinners and pupils are encouraged to try a variety of food around school, for example the annual Roman day when Year Sixes dress up as Romans and eat Roman foods. This school boasts a 5 out of 5 food hygiene rating.Mr. Shone, the head teacher, not only cares for the kids but also promotes smiling and happiness around school - I still remember the assembly which was about smiling and nothing else.If you're thinking of sending your child to school, do not hesitate to. Moorside made me who I am - I guarantee that it will for anyone who comes here too.
