I was REALLY surprised by this place! We went as a large group of 12 (which often worries me when eating out) and we had pre ordered (so I had seen how cheap the menu was.... Again, worries me these days!) But WOW was I really amazed by the dining room (beautiful and modern) the friendly staff, the rewards on offer, the Lovely quirky rooms down on the bar level and the clean toilets. What an absolute diamond of a find!! The mains were all amazing!! They just need to work on the desserts a little, but at 2.95..... My chocolate fudge cake was good value for money (it seemed the best of them all if I am honest) I can definitely recommend this place and would love to go back on a nice summer's evening in the future!
Could not reccomend this hotel more highly. The staff are an absolute treasure, so polite and accommodating. The rooms are gorgeous so much space a real luxury and the food is all fresh and delicious and somehow not pricey. Amazing location where you can look over the river whilst having breakfast. Fantastic can't wait to come back
When I initially read the reviews about this hotel, I had no idea what to expect as they ranged so much in opinion. The area around the hotel is lovely and peaceful with views across the river Lune. I stayed in a room as opposed to a pod and the standard of the the room was at or above the standard expected of the price paid. The bedding and towels were a good quality and the room temperature for the time of year was perfect for me. My evening meal was very satisfactory, and the homemade tomato and basil soup in particular was delicious. Breakfast the following morning was all freshly made and way surpassed the standards of establishments that are more expensive. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and if the opportunity arises, I would definitely stay there again. I hope my review helps you in your decision on where to stay.
A beautiful, atmospheric new dining room, overlooking the River. Gorgeous. So relaxing. We had the steak. We ordered it 'medium', but, although it was still tasty, it was over-cooked and quite dry. Otherwise, a perfectly enjoyable meal, in a fantastic river location
