My partner and myself rented a property from Parkinson Property for six months. We left as soon as we could. To start with, the property we were moved into, which was newly renovated/converted into flats, had a dummy gas meter fitted with just a small amount of credit on. When this credit quickly ran out we were left with no gas (no heating, hot water or gas hob) in the property for a whole month. While the company *eventually* agreed to giving us a months free rent, they left finding the fault up to myself. I racked up a 60 phone bill over the course of this month while I rang energy supplier after energy supplier to find out the cause of the problem. Our next problem came when we attempted to switch energy suppliers. The company we switched to sent a man to fit an electric meter three separate times and was never able to fit one as no one at Parkinson Properties knew where the switch was to disable the electrics for the meter to be fitted safely.During the six months we lived here the fire alarm went off twice, each time tenants were left outside for over an hour before any member of Parkinson's arrived. We were told on the phone that in order to switch the alarm off a key was needed. Again, no one at Parkinson's had any idea what key this was or where it could be found. In the six months we lived their we had to have men sent out to deal with our shower leaking, twice. May I mention that we were the first people to live in this flat and it was newly converted. The window at the top of the staircase in the hall way also never closed, and remained blown wide open throughout the winter. Almost like they'd begun to fit it and never finished it off.The final blow came when we did move out. It took almost a month for us to receive our bond back. This was because when we moved in the company took our bond money and did not place into one of the three companies they by law have to. When we were requesting it be returned to us we were messed around and put off until I eventually threatened further legal action.Do not rent from this company unless you want to be conned every step of the way.

I was a tenant with Parkinson Property for 12 months, and cannot recommend them highly enough. I had a couple of issues in the property that were very quickly dealt with, and from check in all the way through to check out, the staff were helpful and efficient.

From the moment I inquired about renting a property back in July of last year, Vivien, Susan and Josh have been the most helpful people you could ask for when worried about various things to do with the property. The transition from one house to another was seamless, and even more so when it came to me giving notice to move out due to buying a property, the communication between myself and the team is great and very quick in getting answers. Highly recommend Parkinson Property as a letting agent. Thanks for everything guys!

We have been renting properties for the past 10 years and we can honestly say Parkinson Property are the worst letting agency that we have come across. We rented a property on Slaidburn Road in Lancaster and when we moved in it was in a disgusting state, the only reason we continued to stay there was to be close to family. There have been countless incidences and issues with the property and the landlord. Yet Parkinson like to climb inside the landlords pockets and hide there. The landlord herself is a horror, who sent an email basically saying that if we didn't like the state of the garden we could just leave, obviously not that easy for everyone to just up and move. They do not support the tenant at all. They take weeks to get anything sorted. The council condemned the back garden (not good when you have two small children) and it took nearly 2yrs for them to sort. We were without an oven for two weeks, we were constantly cleaning mould from the bathroom walls and in the hallway. When we left the property, they had the cheek to withhold a substantional amount of our deposit, which we are in the process of claiming back. Avoid this company unless you want to be ripped off and conned.*Update* we received all our deposit back as we were found to not be at fault ... Speaks volumes really

We've had only positive experiences with Parkinson Property as our agents (we are tenants). They are fast to respond to queries - Josh has been particularly helpful - and always honest about things. We are glad to be back with them after a 9 month period with another agency who were awful. Would definitely recommend.
